Web Marketing Techniques

Advertisement: ADs allow us to spread the word of our game to the general public through social media platforms, one example of where this might happen would be YouTube, where ADs, like on tv, appear during a video. The drawbacks of this are you must pay to have ADs about your game pop up, plus this can be avoided by users by having apps that Block AD popups. The upside is it's an easy way to spread the word of your game, but ADs are not the most loved form of information on the web.

Search engine optimization: By doing this we can add key words that will help our product appear in the search engines when people enter a word we’ve put down as our product. A simple example of this is our games name or its genre, if a user types in any word that comes under these filters, it will have a higher change of appearing in their search. This is really good for spreading the word about our game, since when searching on the web, hundreds if not thousands of search results appear, so having key filter words attached to our official site will help get us noticed.

Social media: By doing this we can not only make a place where people can find information on our game, upcoming updates, Q&A sessions and so on. But also talk to our team for further information, as best we can without confirming too much and other interested users, who through their discussions can not only help draw more attention to our game, but might even come up with ideas or concerns that we overlooked. There are many benefits from doing this, but there is also drawback.

By having an active Social media page, concerns and complaints spoken aloud by the users might turn into bad advertising, which might scare future users away. The other downside is we must regularly update the community on development, for a lack of communication with our community, might lead to our interested users feeling that the project is not going well and again might lead to some losing interest.
