Email Marketing

Email marketing allows the Development team of the product to send updates, news, and offers to users that have signed up for these updates to be sent to their personal emails.

The Benefit of doing this is that it saves the interested user to go hunting for the information themselves, for example, if the development team has an official website for their game, any interested parties would have to keep looking on the site in the hopes something had be announced, whether it be a general update to the game's development, or a big announcement. By signing up to have this information sent to their email, these interested users get the information as soon as possible.

There really isn’t a downside to this from a developer's standpoint except that an email doesn't have the visual appeal that their own website would have, so should include images of the game to help interest the user to read the update emails. The only issue is that a lot of people don’t opt for this option unless their very interested in the game, plus on the users end they may find it annoying to have constant emails from the developers about their game filling up their inbox.

Assuming an interested user decided to have emails sent to them about the game, here is a couple of things the developers could send.

Key giveaways: By giving interested users the option of signing up for the chance on getting a beta or even alpha key giveaway, we are getting both free advertising, since anyone interested will prob let others know, they can sign up for the chance at trying a new game for free. But when the time comes that they do get the key, we also get free testing on our product.

Newsletters: newsletters allow us to give interested party's the option on receiving information regarding our progress with the game s development, general news, events and so on, this is different than posting our news on social media or on a game's platform such as steam, for the user must go looking for this information. Newsletters is an option where the user can have updated progress mailed to them. This is a good way for developers to actively keep users interested.
